Thick, needs hole This is made of flexible foam, a lot like the foam used around hot water pipes to keep the heat in, just a little thinner. They are pretty thick, you need to make sure you have the clearance for your speaker to be a ¼” or more higher than it is now. These SIGNIFICANTLY destroy the bass, there is no air movement, they’re not a sealed enclosure made for your specific speaker and the majority of 6×9’s are “infinite baffle” so they’re made to have nothing behind them. Completely changes sound…for the worse! Not poking fun at this product…maybe works for you but here is my honest experience…these were used to go with my replacement speakers (infinities 6.75″) with a factory stereo in my 2008 GMC Sierra pick up…there is a known issue of the truck speakers failing with rumors it was because water issue in door but I saw none…anyway i installed these boom mat speakers baffles because they said they improve sound and keep moisture out….put radio on and had absolutely no bass sound…all i had…
