Great inexpensive replacement This was a perfect replacement for my 2004 Jeep Wrangler X (4.0L). I first tried using my existing housing with a new gasket after replacing the thermostat but there was too much crud from the old gasket still on the original housing. It leaked like crazy. After completely scraping off the remains of the old gasket on the manifold, I simply applied a little adhesive to the new housing to help installation. Torqued it down to 156in (13lbs) and boom… nary a drop. I also needed to purchase…

Direct fit Used to replace the housing on my 2005 Jeep TJ Unlimited. Fit great, no milling errors or quality issues with the housing. It does include a gasket, and unfortunately the gasket leaves quite a bit to be desired. The cutout of the gasket does not fully match the shape of the housing – I’m not sure if it’s a universal gasket or just poorly made. You might be better off getting a better quality gasket, but the housing itself works well.

Marc Burningham says:

Great Replacement This was a great replacement for the OEM unit, which had corroded through on one edge, creating a leak. This unit has a little more material on the edge that corroded, so it should last much longer before it leaks. Other purchasers have commented on the quality of the gasket, but I found the gasket to be just fine.
