Proforms engine rotation adapter is for Chevy or Ford V8 engines and attaches to the harmonic balancer. Useful when degreeing the cam or assembling an engine. When adapter is attached the crankshaft can be rotated using a 1/2″ breaker bar or a 1″ socket and breaker bar.

Plenty tough and gets the job done. Worked great! Was able to get my 4.3 v6 unstuck. Had to use a lot more force that I was expecting. This tool held up great. I can’t say the same for one of my impact adapters. I used a 1 inch socket on it instead of the 1/2 drive. Seems to be a quality part. Has already paid for itself.

The little adapter that turn the big engine over. This little adapter worked great. I noticed some reviews that the adapter broke. I could see where that could happen if you did not use a socket to turn the damper but used the square hole meant for a breaker bar. Also, , if you were using it to find TDC, I would suggest you remove not just # 1 plug, but all the plugs. I removed all the plugs and used a socket on the adapter. I also loosened the belts on the accessory pulleys.(Air conditioner, power steering etc.) I used a medium sized…

A necessary tool if you are building an engine. I purchased this for working on a freshly machined 4.3L Vortec engine. Even with the cylinders and bearings lubed and properly gapped rings, my engine was very tight. Once I pressed the harmonic balancer into place, I was unable to use my crank snout socket any more and it was too tight to turn over by the crank bolts. I purchased this and within minutes of unpacking it, I was rotating the crank into position for stabbing the distributor. A necessary tool to do the job right.
