Horrible manufacturing tolerances I never write reviews, but I am compelled to login and share my experience. The product looks great out of the box, powder coated black, but the experience goes downhill from there. It did not fit in my 2000 Toyota Tacoma 2′ tow hitch receiver. When I ‘eyeballed the edges like a 2X4’ each “flat” side of the hitch was like ‘hills and valleys’ of metal. I had to spend 45 minutes with a metal hand grinder to flatten them out. So, after that nonsense I slide the hitch in and the holes ‘just don’t line up enough’ for the standard hitch pin I bought. I whip out the old hand drill with a wire brush bit and spend another 20 minutes going back and forth on the inside to remove the powder coat and create a bit more wiggle room. Suffice to say, I got this thing to fit! However, now I have a ‘half black half oddly ground silver tow hitch’ thanks to crappy manufacturing. Never buying smittybuilt again.

Stay clear… This is made in China and is not a true 2 inches in the top to bottom dimension. It measures at 2.125 and WILL NOT fit in the 2″ receiver of my 2012 Toyota 4runner. I returned this for an exchange and the second one is exactly the same. I considered grinding it down, but after reading another reviewers experience with this process, I will return it for a refund and stay clear of Smittybilt products. The pictures show a smooth, machine-like product. It is cast and ground, poorly at that. To Amazon’s credit, they made returning the first one easy. Unfortunately, I’ll be taking advantage of that service again.

Perfect fit for my 2″ Class IV hitch (2011 Toyota Tacoma) Read a lot of other reviews stating this does not fit within their 2″ receiver. I’ve confirmed this fits the OEM Toyota 2″ Class IV hitch on my ’11 Tacoma. What’s in the box: Exactly what you see in the picture, Block and D-Ring. You’ll need to purchase a hitch pin separately (looks a 5/8″ hole).Thoughts: I posted some pics so you can see the workmanship as well as the fit on my Tacoma. This is not tubed metal; it’s casted and is solid (weighs about 9lbs). D-Ring fits perfectly within the block… no wiggle yet can freely spin. No paint chips either. Cannot wait to write a follow-up after my first use and am confident this will be a vital piece of my recovery kit for a long time.UPDATE: I confirmed this uses a 5/8″ hitch pin.
